Playing chess
Some folks playing chess at the Feria de Plaza Francia [Recoleta Fair]. If you want to learn more about the feria, click here.

^_^
This is the 2nd picture where I show you one of our pet. Her name is Lilu and she’s the only female in the group.

Woman and sheep
I was unable to find any related information about this statue located in the botanical garden of Buenos Aires. If anyone has some information to share, that’d be great. Thanks! :=)

^_^
Our dear companion Toti cat. This is sort of unusual in BA daily, but once in a while I find it nice to show him to you. I’ll post pictures of the other 2 [yes we have 2 other cats ;=)] later this week.

Where is Amir?
I saw this today while browsing others photoblogs from the City Daily Photo community that one talented blogger and photographer from Tehran went missing since June 17th. With all the uproar taking place in his country, the situation is critical and his missing worrisome. Hope he’s ok and that he’ll be back soon!

Cold weather
..and I like it! It feels sooo good. I like winter in general more than summer, especially here in Argentina Buenos Aires [Gracias Fabian, tenes razon jajaja] where summer is just too humid and stifling.

Delicious ice cream
Ice cream in Argentinian is by far the best ice cream I had compared to other countries. Is there anyone who think otherwise? ;=)

Fun site to look at
I discovered this site: LandingPadBA about 2 days ago. Here what the folks at LandingPadBA write about their site:

I’ve been clicking through a few articles, I liked, smiled at what I read. It is definitely an alternative guide to BA, for the first time visitor to BA this could come in handy. It takes you away from those so touristic guides that always share the same kind of information. If you’re looking for new, fresher information, inside tips to discover Buenos Aires, than go check it out.
This is the group I join every Tuesday night in the photo class. That day, we gathered in the Botanical garden to experiment cameras with black & white reels.

June theme: Feet
This month we had to illustrate the theme “feet” [pie in Spanish]. To see more theme day pictures, click here.
**Update: as many of you asked about the background of this sculpture, here it goes. The feet belongs to the sculpture displayed in this posting. Also if some of you read Spanish, you can fin further detailed information here.
The sculpture’s name: Saturnalia from Ernesto Biondi.

Tempting
Yummy looking cakes at that French patisserie located on Malabia between Guemes and Charcas. My little guilty pleasure when I go there is, of course, to buy lots of pains au chocolat.

In the botanic garden
Picture taken in the botanico. Thanks to Atiman, we do know that this sculpture is the “Saturnalia”, from Ernesto Riondo, and was made in Roma in 1909. It will soon obtain the symbol of an unbridled orgy of the ancient Romans. More than its thematic value, the sculpture impresses by the vulgarity of some faces reflecting the mediocrity of the soldiers’ soul. Read more in this article [in Spanish]. Thanks Atiman for the information!

At the café
While having lunch in a café the other day, I dared taking this picture. I usually never feel confident taking pictures of people whether it’s in the street, restaurants, subway, etc.

Alone walk
Catch this today on the Avenida Santa Fe. This is not so common to see them in the city. I’m not too sure, but I think this person belongs to the Infantería de Marina [Marines in English], please correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks to Gustavo, we learned that this person is a student at Colegio Militar de la Nación (National military school), a kind of West Point where one study to become an army officer. Thanks again Gustavo!
