Bibliomóvil in the city
The National Congress’ Library counts on a new “bibliomóvil” which starting today, will begin to stop by different places in the country to promote reading, and to offer activities stands. This movable library was created in 2002, will be transferred in a two-floor omnibus, equipped with a reading room of more than 3500 titles between fiction and educational books. It counts with a multimedia room, with 10 computers connected to the Internet, television and DVD, and a movable cinema.

What a great idea. It’s amazing to me how many people don’t read anything after they leave school – and I mean well-educated people with more than enough resources. I’d love to know whether this mobile library gets people reading again.

Argentines read a lot even though books are rather expensive in Argentina. What a wonderful looking bus and what a terrific idea.
