Plaza San Martín
Square between Av. Santa Fe, Av. del Libertador and San Martin Street. It was known as the “Campo de la Gloria” (Battlefield of Glory) in the early 1800s for being the place where the people of Buenos Aires heroically defended themselves against the British invasion of 1807. This is the monument to General Jose de San Martin. This square is the major green space in the district of Retiro.
