Walking in Caminito
The “street museum” Caminito is one of the first of its kind and one of the most visited sites in Buenos Aires. The permanent exhibition consists of work by national and internationally renowned artists, while at weekends the streets flood with tango music, dancing and handicraft stalls. This open museum streches for 100 metres in the working class district of La Boca, a port area based on the edge of the river Riachuelo. In the 1900s it became home to numerous Genoese immigrants, who buit elevated housing blocks to protect themselves from the flooding. These brightly coloured and highly decorative houses are still there, albeit in rather dilapidated state, and flank the cobbled street of the museum.

Wow, there is a lot of people over there! It seems an interesting place, I didn’t know about it… aaah, there’s lots of things I don’t know from all over the world!!

This is another place I went to and went down this street… I remember it… I bought a small painting from a local artist to remind me of my time in Argentina…
