Asian comics

Feeling like reading authentic mangas [Japanese comics]? Head to the Barrio chino. I’m just not sure if those are in Chinese or Japanese.

  2. I would guess they are Japanese mangas, but in Chinese translation. Because:
    1. Chinese manga sucks (don’t worry, I am Chinese, I am allowed to say it sucks.. :P ), and Chinese manga doesn’t have such big collections.
    2. Only Japanese mangas have enough readers to worth the export.
    3. Consider the amount of Chinese in BA, I say they are all Chinese translated (I didn’t see much Japanese the last time I was in BA). Taiwan and HongKong are big fans of reading Japanese mangas and translated almost every single title and volume.

From the size of the mangas collection on your photo, I would say it’s Taiwanese owned, because in Taiwan, they have many manage stores that specialize in rent-it-home/rent-and-read-in-store/buy/sell Japanese mangas like the one in your photo. I never seen anywhere else has manga store like Taiwanese does. (well, I have also seen manga stores in Vancouver, San Jose and LA, but all are Taiwanese owned as well). So I would say 99% chance it’s Taiwanese owned manga shop of Japanese Manga in Chinese Translation.
