Cheap place for filming

The city of Buenos Aires requires $200 to shut down a street downtown and $1200 to close a public space for filming purposes. It makes BA therefore one of the cheapest city for shooting.

In Rome, for example, the mininum will be 200 euros to use a public space, it’s been reported that a production paid up to 250.000 euros. In L.A., it’s US$1.000 per day, a few streets can be used and only happens on Sundays. In Madrid, to shoot a movie, a basic tax of 0.55 euros per square meter must be paid per day, more 45.80 euros for the permit’s processing. In New York, shooting in public spaces is free and only requires to ask for the permit at least 48 hours in advance to the Office for Film, Theater and Broadcasting, which in return requires that every production possesses an insurance for damages.

  1. It looks like a huge city and I guess it is a cheaper place than here.
