Theme day: lines
This is a repost- I first posted this picture in January 2006, when it was the very beginning of this blog. Today I’m re-using it for this month’s theme day.
Typical bus line in Buenos Aires. I’m always impressed to see how well they respect their turn to get on the bus here. Sometimes the line of people can be spread over half a block. Someone who’s unlucky to get in the bus the first time, will just wait for the second one to pass by. I’ll be curious to know how this works in your part of the world?

Clever interpretation, I was so lost for the theme that I got desperate.

Line of people waiting for the bus, here in Indonesia? Are you kidding?
. We have to learn a lot from you in Buenos Aires. Great thought!

It used to be like this in the UK but these days it is often much less orderly.

I love the bus lines in Cuba, because there aren’t any; people just remember who they are after, “el ultimo?”, and then go relax under a tree someplace.

Great interpretation of lines for the theme day! So many to choose from!

I expected many more theme day photos showing queues. They are perfect examples of a line … I don’t often ride public transport so I can respond to your question with authority. The few times I have ridden mass transit in Chicago there was always a rush for the door and lines were not respected.

Posts and rails have to be put up to force people to line up properly, otherwise it becomes a royal rumble!
Great choice for theme day! I also thought of recycling one of my very first posts, then decided against it.

We never have order like that in Saigon!

I am in Argentina for the third time and still surprised by the way people stay in line. On the other hand, in the metro they will almost kill you to get in the metro ( I am using Linea D, which seems to be always busy).
In Holland we do not know the word line when it get to waiting for a bus. We only know we want to get in first to save ourselves a good seat.

Wow, lines in Minneapolis, MN are unheard of! Although there is one place in downtown where there is an orderly line and it always comes as a shock when I see it.
