Rain brings chaos to the city
Huge rain hit Buenos Aires and surroundings since this morning. It is now close to 3pm, things are slowly getting back to normal, at least rain stopped, but some barrios and streets are just living total chaos. Picture “stolen” from a newspaper sent by a reader Matías Martínez Nesi. The picture shows the streets Santa Fe and J.B. Justo. More picture here: Flooding Buenos Aires.

Looks like the photographer was in the best place when he took this photo.

Wow, that’s crazy traffic! And I thought London was bad!

Mark- Traffic’s usually bad in BA, but what you see in the picture is a combination of a blackout and the rain. An uncontrolled scene of drivers. For me, traffic is one of the worst thing in BA, and seeing this picture make me think I’m glad I was not part of it :=)

Karine, that IS a mess!
BTW that looks like Montego Bay when it rains. What is it about rain that makes traffic get so ridiculous?!

Ahh Ann, I like your question. I guess more than the rain, traffic is bad because of the drivers themselves, they´re a mess. I mean if they were a lot more respectful and cautious, and know how to drive properly, traffic in BA could be a lot better and a mess like the one shown on this picture would not happen :=)

Wow! Looks like they did not get home on time. Nice shot!

That’s a great shot, looks like they all escaped without a crash.
Unfortunately, I think drivers everywhere could show a bit more sense!

Yes< I was in B.A. yesterday and got soaked. I live in Northern California and have never seen rain that heavy. Sone streets were like little rivers. I think the deepest I walked through was about 1.5 feet of water at an intersection. Up to my knees and my shoes may never be the same!
