Daily Pictures of Buenos Aires

Daily traffic

When traffic conditions are normal, a person who lives outside and works in the city, loses everyday at least three hours of her time in commuting. And the prognostic is more discouraging, as the transit steadily grew in the last years. Nowadays, during each business day, almost 2 million vehicles circulate in Buenos Aires. The following picture has been taken last Monday, around 10.30am on the Avenida 9 de Julio.

  1. Yow! I’ve been in that! The situation is even more scary when you realize that Aveneda 9 de Julio is, what, nine lanes wide in each direction? Has BsAs ever considered a congestion tax, where you must pay a fee to drive into the heart of the city during business hours? London has done it for a couple of years and it really helps. NYC is about to start it for the core of Manhattan, I think.

Eso es mas caotico que en la ciudad de Mexico.

Cosas que debemos vivir a diario.
